HOW WE STARTED
In 2008, I made a quadcopter model from parts which I lovingly called Franken-copter. The parts were from Hong Kong, as the US lagged behind at the time. As my hobby progressed, I wanted these aircraft to do things. I found a gimbal and a go-pro camera clone, and I was hooked. There were no “certifications” or “Part 107” back then. There was no GPS to hold position at first.
